Subject: [Flent-users] Effect of per host interval time (-p) on Flent tool
Date: Mon, 9 Apr 2018 16:31:59 +0530 [thread overview]

Hello All,
I have observed that fping (v4.0) discards all ICMP reply if the delay is
greater than per host sending interval (set using -p).
flent uses fping with per host interval as 0.2 (200 ms), which is very low
if netserver is far from flent client (Example RTT > 200 ms). In such case
flent will not be able to generate ping results.
Same problem occurs when we setup a test bed and add extra delay using
netem between flent client and netserver.
I think flent should handle this scenario.
Thanks and Regards,
Sourabh Jain
